#Purpose
This document defines the minimum editorial standards that every publication produced by KBY Technologies must meet.
These standards apply equally to content created by employees, contractors, contributors and artificial intelligence.
Meeting these standards is a requirement for publication.
#Our Editorial Standard
Every publication should improve understanding.
Content should be:
- Accurate
- Evidence-based
- Clear
- Fair
- Relevant
- Accessible
- Useful
- Worth publishing
If a publication fails to meet any of these standards, it should not be published until it has been improved.
#Accuracy
Accuracy is our highest editorial priority.
All factual statements should be verified using reliable and credible sources before publication.
We do not knowingly publish inaccurate, misleading or speculative information presented as fact.
Where uncertainty exists, it should be acknowledged clearly.
#Evidence
Claims should be supported by appropriate evidence wherever possible.
We prioritise:
- Primary sources
- Official documentation
- Government publications
- Academic research
- Recognised industry standards
- First-hand evidence
Secondary sources may provide context but should not replace authoritative evidence.
#Fairness
Content should present information honestly and fairly.
We should avoid sensationalism, unnecessary bias and misleading presentation.
Where differing viewpoints are relevant, they should be represented accurately and in context.
Editorial decisions should always be guided by evidence rather than opinion.
#Clarity
Knowledge has little value if readers cannot understand it.
Every publication should:
- Explain complex subjects clearly.
- Define technical terminology where appropriate.
- Use logical structure.
- Remove unnecessary complexity.
- Prioritise readability without sacrificing accuracy.
Simple communication demonstrates understanding.
#Relevance
Every publication should have a clear purpose.
Before publishing, we should be able to answer:
- Who is this for?
- Why does it matter?
- What problem does it solve?
- How does it improve understanding?
If these questions cannot be answered confidently, the publication should be reconsidered.
#Transparency
Readers should understand:
- What is known.
- What is uncertain.
- Where information originated.
- When opinions are being expressed.
- When content has been updated or corrected.
Transparency strengthens trust.
#Editorial Independence
Editorial decisions must never be influenced by:
- Commercial relationships.
- Advertising.
- Sponsorship.
- Personal interests.
- External pressure.
Editorial integrity always takes priority over commercial benefit.
#Human Accountability
Artificial intelligence may support research, drafting and editorial workflows.
However, responsibility for every publication remains with KBY Technologies.
Every publication should receive appropriate human editorial oversight before release.
AI assists our work.
It does not replace our judgement.
#Continuous Improvement
Knowledge evolves.
When better evidence becomes available, we should update our publications accordingly.
Maintaining accuracy is an ongoing responsibility rather than a one-time task.
#Publication Checklist
Before publication, confirm that the content:
- Is accurate.
- Is evidence-based.
- Is fair.
- Is clearly written.
- Has a defined audience.
- Solves a genuine problem.
- Uses trustworthy sources.
- Meets accessibility requirements.
- Complies with the Writing Style Guide.
- Has been reviewed appropriately.
Only when every standard has been met should the publication be approved.

- Would I trust this information to make an important decision?
- Can every important claim be supported?
- Is the content balanced and honest?
- Does this improve understanding?
- Would I be comfortable attaching the KBY Technologies name to this publication?
If the answer is no, improve the publication before proceeding.
