#Purpose

Artificial intelligence plays an important role in supporting the work of KBY Technologies.

This policy defines how AI may be used throughout the organisation while protecting the editorial standards, trust and accountability that underpin everything we publish.

Artificial intelligence supports our work.

It never replaces our responsibility.

#Our AI Philosophy

We believe artificial intelligence should enhance human capability rather than replace human judgement.

AI enables us to work more efficiently, explore ideas more effectively and improve the accessibility of knowledge.

However, AI does not possess editorial responsibility.

Every publication remains the responsibility of KBY Technologies.

#Acceptable Uses

Artificial intelligence may be used to assist with:

  • Research support.
  • Brainstorming ideas.
  • Draft generation.
  • Content summarisation.
  • Language refinement.
  • Structural suggestions.
  • Metadata generation.
  • Search optimisation.
  • Translation assistance.
  • Data analysis.
  • Workflow automation.

Human oversight is required throughout the editorial process.

#Human Responsibility

Editorial responsibility cannot be delegated.

Before publication, a human reviewer should ensure that content:

  • Meets the Editorial Standards.
  • Follows the Writing Style Guide.
  • Has been fact checked appropriately.
  • Uses reliable evidence.
  • Is suitable for publication.
  • Represents the values of KBY Technologies.

The use of AI does not reduce these responsibilities.

#Accuracy

AI-generated content should never be assumed to be accurate.

Every factual statement, quotation, statistic and reference should be verified using appropriate evidence before publication.

Verification remains mandatory regardless of how the content was created.

#Transparency

We aim to use AI responsibly and honestly.

Where AI materially contributes to research, drafting or analysis, we should consider whether disclosure is appropriate based on the audience, purpose and context.

Transparency strengthens trust.

#Privacy and Confidentiality

Artificial intelligence should never be used in a way that compromises confidential, personal or sensitive information.

When using third-party AI systems, appropriate safeguards should be applied to protect data and comply with applicable legal and contractual obligations.

Protecting information is part of maintaining trust.

#Bias and Fairness

AI systems may reflect limitations, biases or outdated information.

Human reviewers should actively identify and correct:

  • Bias.
  • Unsupported assumptions.
  • Misleading conclusions.
  • Inappropriate language.
  • Unbalanced perspectives.

Editorial judgement always takes precedence over AI output.

#Continuous Improvement

Artificial intelligence is evolving rapidly.

KBY Technologies will regularly review:

  • AI capabilities.
  • Editorial risks.
  • Ethical considerations.
  • Regulatory developments.
  • Best practices.

Our policies should evolve as technology and society change.

#Prohibited Uses

Artificial intelligence must not be used to:

  • Publish unverified information.
  • Fabricate sources, quotations or evidence.
  • Present AI-generated opinions as established facts.
  • Circumvent editorial review.
  • Mislead readers about how content was produced.
  • Replace responsible human oversight.

Trust must never be sacrificed for speed or efficiency.

#AI Review Checklist

Before approving AI-assisted content, confirm that:

  • Important claims have been verified.
  • Sources have been checked.
  • Editorial Standards have been met.
  • Writing Style Guide has been followed.
  • Bias has been considered.
  • Human review has been completed.
  • The publication represents the values of KBY Technologies.

Only then should content be approved for publication.

#In Practice

Before using artificial intelligence, ask yourself:

  • Does AI improve the quality of this work?
  • Has every important claim been verified?
  • Would we publish this without further review?
  • Does this maintain trust?
  • Are we still fully accountable for the outcome?

If the answer to any question is no, additional human review is required.
