Technology explained

What is 1Password?

1Password is a password manager and secrets platform for storing, generating and sharing credentials, passkeys and other sensitive information. This profile connects the concept to KBY's practical engineering guidance.

It encrypts vault data on the user's device and combines the account password with a separate Secret Key, so the service does not hold everything required to decrypt a vault. Business editions add policy, provisioning, access reporting and developer-secret workflows.
