What is MFA?

Multi-factor authentication requires evidence from more than one authentication-factor category before granting access. This profile connects the concept to KBY's practical engineering guidance.

Factors may represent knowledge, possession or inherence; two passwords do not constitute two factors. Method strength varies significantly, with origin-bound cryptographic authenticators providing better phishing resistance than codes delivered or entered manually.
