Technology explained

What is SSH?

Secure Shell is a protocol for encrypted remote login, command execution, tunnelling and file transfer. This profile connects the concept to KBY's practical engineering guidance.

SSH authenticates servers with host keys and clients with passwords, public keys or other methods before creating protected channels. Trust-on-first-use, private-key custody, agent forwarding, bastion design and command restrictions shape the real security posture.
